Austin, Texas (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF rowing team concluded the Longhorn Invitational Sunday morning with two more victories on Lady Bird Lake. The novice eight and second varsity four squads each picked up wins vs. Oklahoma in their final races of the weekend.
In the first event of the morning, the Knights' novice eight team defeated the Sooners with a time of 8:04.8, over four seconds ahead of its competition.
The second varsity four took its cue from the rookies in the following event, crossing nearly 15 seconds ahead of Oklahoma with a time of 8:24.2.
UCF's varsity four, second varsity eight and varsity eight squads also competed against the Sooners on the final day of competition in Austin, Texas, but they were not able to surpass Oklahoma in the final three events of the regatta.
The varsity four finished its event in 8:29.3, before the second varsity eight clocked a time of 7:35.4. In the finale, the Knights' varsity eight squad was not able to surpass the Sooners, finishing in a time of 7:31.4, with Oklahoma taking the victory in 7:19.8.
The Black and Gold is back in action April 9, when it travels to Tuscaloosa, Ala., for a match-up vs. Alabama.
The Knights will host its lone home event of the year April 30 vs. Miami.
