TULSA, Okla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Senior Tawny Swan (Gilbert, Ariz.) was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate and fellow senior Abby McClain (Waterloo, Iowa) posted a double and her sixth home run of the season in UCF (10-18, 2-2 C-USA) softball's, 5-1, loss at Tulsa (20-7, 4-0 C-USA) in the first game of its Conference USA doubleheader at the Donna J. Hardesty Sports Complex Saturday afternoon.

Game two of the doubleheader is scheduled for 5:40 p.m. ET, following a rain delay.

Swan and McClain accounted for five of the Knights' six hits in the contest, with senior Tiffany Lane (Moreno Valley, Calif.) adding a single and a walk for the Black and Gold.

Despite reaching base twice in the contest, junior Allie Jest (Stone Mountain, Ga.) was not able to get a hit, ending her program-record hit streak at 17 games.

Junior Lacey Dinney (Binbrook, Ont.) suffered the loss in the circle for UCF, allowing five runs on seven hits with four walks and two strikeouts in six innings of work. The loss dropped Dinney's record to 7-5 on the year.

The game was a pitcher's duel between Dinney and Tulsa starter Aimee Creger through the first four innings, as neither hurler allowed a run. But, it was the Golden Hurricane who finally broke the deadlock with four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.

McClain broke up Creger's shutout in the top of the sixth with a leadoff solo home, but Tulsa earned the run back in the bottom of the frame on two UCF miscues and a RBI single to seal the, 5-1, victory.

The third game of the league series is set for Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.

The Knights have 11 home games remaining on their 2011 schedule, including a contest vs. in-state rival Florida State on April 6, with season tickets for the season costing only $40. Tickets are available for purchase online at UCFAthletics.com and Ticketmaster.com, or by calling the UCF Athletics Ticket Office at (407) UCF-1000.
