ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After helping UCF claim the team title at the Rio Pinar Invitational yesterday, freshman Greg Eason (Leicester City, England) was selected as the Conference USA Men's Golfer of the Week Wednesday, the league office announced. Eason, who tied for third at Rio Pinar, shared the C-USA honor with Kelly Kraft of SMU.
The league golfer of the week award is the fourth for Eason this season.
At Rio Pinar, which was hosted by the Knights in Orlando, he totaled a 9-under 207 in three rounds of play. Eason began the event with a 67 (-5), and followed that up with a 68 (-4) in the second round. During Tuesday's final round, he carded an even-par 72.
The top-10 finish was the fifth of the year for Eason. He has recorded top-10 performances in all four of the spring tournaments for UCF.
