CHARLESTON, W.Va. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF will open play at the 2011 Buick Conference USA Men's Basketball Championship Wednesday against East Carolina at 1 p.m. Eastern in El Paso, Texas. The Knights have earned the ninth seed at the event, and will face the eighth-seeded Pirates.
UCF concluded the regular season 19-10 overall and 6-10 in league play.
The winner of the UCF-East Carolina opening round game will meet top-seed UAB Thursday in the quarterfinals. That game at the Don Haskins Center will also start at 1 p.m. Eastern.
