INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. (UCFAthletics.com) - All three of UCF's representatives at the NFL Scouting Combine in Indianapolis ranked amongst the top five in their respective position groups at the elite event in at least one of the measurables.

Including crucial interviews with the 32 NFL franchises, it was a busy but productive time for Bruce Miller, Jamar Newsome and Jah Reid as they attempt to work their way into the mix to join nearly a dozen other UCF alumni in the NFL next season. The combine continues through tomorrow but several of the Knights' marks should hold up to be amongst the best recorded at the entire event which attracts over 300 of the country's top prospects.

Miller and Newsome both had a pair of top-five finishes. Miller did 35 reps in the 225-pound bench press to rank third amongst 57 defensive linemen in Indianapolis while also ranking fifth in the three-cone drill, clocking in at 7.05 seconds in the agility test. The bench press sum tied for the fifth-best ranking by a defensive lineman at the combine since 2006. Miller also placed in the top-10 in the 20-yard shuttle, finishing the lateral movement test in 4.34 seconds.

Newsome placed fourth out of 46 wide receivers in both the broad jump and the 60-yard shuttle. His broad jump mark of 10-9 and his 11.06 second time in the shuttle each tied for the ninth-best marks by a wide receiver since 2006. Newsome's 40-yard dash time was solid too, tying for 14th-best at 4.51 seconds.

The broad jump is considered a test of explosiveness and Reid demonstrated that he had plenty of that, leaping 9-3, the second-best mark out of any of the 56 offensive linemen at the combine and the ninth-best jump since 2006.
