VALDOSTA, Ga. (UCFAthletics.com) - Three Knights, Katie Detlefsen (Eagan, Minn.), Valentina Fontaine (Santiago, Chile) and Carolin Pinegger (Marquartstein, Germany), shot matching scores of 77 to lead the UCF women's golf team in the opening round of play at the Kinderlou Forest Challenge at the par-73 6,359-yard Kinderlou Forest Golf Club in Valdosta, Ga.

Overall the Knights stand in 11th place after the first 18 holes of competition with their team total of 311 (+19). Coastal Carolina, champion of the 2011 UCF Challenge, stands atop a tightly-compacted 14-team field at 303.

Detlefsen, Fontaine and Pinegger all stand in a tie for 27th overall with their plus-four 77s today. Sophomore Jordyn Hage (Winter Park, Fla.) was fourth amongst the Knights in Sunday's opening round with an 80 (+7) while freshman Kaitlyn Price (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.) rounded out UCF's participants with an 81 (+8).

Play will continue on Monday and Tuesday in Valdosta with 18 holes of competition per day. UCF's tee times for Monday begin at 9:16 a.m. with the Knights playing alongside golfers from Georgia State and Illinois.
