ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team continues its nine-contest homestand Thursday afternoon against local rival Stetson at 2 p.m. Admission is free at the UCF Tennis Complex.
The Knights (3-4) had a pair of freshmen breakout on Sunday against visiting North Florida. Erik Brunskog (Linkoping, Sweden) and Mitch Thams (Queensland, Australia) paired at No. 3 doubles for an 8-5 victory. Brunskog was also victorious at No. 2 singles over Daniel Sotomarino, 7-5, 6-4.
Stetson is 8-1 this season, most recently defeating Conference USA member Southern Miss. The Knights defeated the Hatters 5-2 in their matchup last year.
Recently UCF announced the Knights will face Florida Gulf Coast on Sunday at 10 a.m. The match was originally scheduled for Feb. 6 but was postponed due to rain.
