ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Following a 2-2 outing at the UCF/Courtyard by Marriott Invitational I last weekend, the UCF softball team is set to hit the road Wednesday for a 6 p.m. contest at Florida A&M.
The Knights enter the game with a 3-6 record on the season, which includes victories over Utah State, UIC and Delaware, while the Rattlers entertain the Black and Gold with a 4-5 overall record following play at the Jacksonville Invitational last weekend.

Senior Tawny Swan (Gilbert, Ariz.) was the Knights' biggest producer throughout the week, as the outfielder hit .357 in five games to lead the Knights to a pair of victories. Of the senior's five hits, three were for extra bases as she posted two doubles and a triple, while she also added two RBI, two sacrifice hits, a sacrifice fly and reached base on a hit-by-pitch. Swan also recorded a .643 slugging percentage and a .375 on-base percentage during the week. She had her best performance Saturday night in the win vs. Delaware, as she was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with a double, a triple, a RBI and a sacrifice fly.
Also making big contributions to the team's success was sophomore Patrice Fee (Cocoa, Fla.), who had six RBI during the UCF Invitational at the UCF Softball Complex. Fee posted a pinch-hit, two-RBI home run in the Knights' win over UIC, before hitting a two-RBI double vs. Notre Dame and a two-RBI triple vs. Miami (Ohio). Fee averaged 1.50 RBI per game during the event as the Knights' designated player.
With UCF posting the pair of wins last weekend, head coach Renee Luers-Gillispie is now only four wins away from career-victory No. 600. The skipper entered the season only seven victories from the milestone and with three wins on the year she now holds a 596-443-3 NFCA record which includes a 344-239-1 record at UCF.
In Wednesday's road game, Luers-Gillispie and the Knights will be facing Florida A&M for the 10th time in program history, with the Black and Gold holding a 6-3 advantage in the all-time series.
The Knights have 28 home games remaining on their 2011 schedule, with season tickets for the season costing only $40. If you buy today, you will pay only $1.42 per game for the remainder of the year. Tickets are available for purchase online at UCFAthletics.com and Ticketmaster.com, or by calling the UCF Athletics Ticket Office at (407) UCF-1000.
