ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF track & field and cross country head coach Caryl Smith Gilbert and her staff has announced the signing of two more student-athletes to National Letters of Intent. Teresa Huff (Titusville, Fla.) and Precious Ogunleye (Hoffman Estates, Illinois) will join the Knights this fall after completing their high school careers in the spring.

A thrower, Ogunleye will join a promising young group of Knights for the 2012 season. As a junior last spring, she was first in her conference in both the shot put and discus, while taking first place at states in the shot put during indoor season. She was both an all-state and all-conference selection and was named Most Valuable Player at sectionals after winning both events.

"Precious is a great student-athlete and is very dedicated to track & field," assistant coach Jeff Chakouian said. "She has thrown very far as a junior and we are all waiting to see how far she goes as a senior. The entire coaching staff is very excited that Precious is now a Knight."

Huff, a Titusville resident, will add depth to the middle and long distance runners for both the track and cross country teams. A school record holder in cross country, Huff is also a state qualifier, an all-conference selection, a regional champion and a team MVP. During the 2010 track season, she was named to the all-conference team and set new personal bests in both the 1600- and 3200-meter races. "Teresa is a local product and I'm really excited to have her coming in next fall," assistant coach and cross country coach Paul Brown said. "We are trying to create a cross country tradition and I believe that Teresa is a step in the right direction towards achieving that goal."

The Knights now have signed three talented incoming student-athletes for next season. Joining Ogunleye and Huff at UCF next season will be highly-touted sprinter Octavious Freeman (Lake Wales, Fla.).

UCF's nationally-ranked indoor track & field team will return to action this weekend when it competes at the Conference USA Championships at Houston's Yeoman Fieldhouse. The meet is set to begin Friday and continue through Saturday.
