HUNTINGTON, W.Va. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF women's basketball team earned its second straight Conference USA road victory Sunday afternoon against Marshall, 71-59, at the Cam Henderson Center. Senior Chelsie Wiley (Riviera Beach, Fla.) led the Knights (14-10, 7-4 C-USA) with a game-high 19 points, while fellow senior D'Nay Daniels (Atlanta, Ga.) had a double-double of 16 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.

With its third consecutive win, UCF completed its second regular-season sweep of Marshall (6-18, 2-9 C-USA) in the last three seasons (2009 and 2011). After opening the league schedule with a win at Rice, the Knights dropped three straight C-USA road games. But, with the win over Marshall, UCF evened its record at 3-3 on the road against league opponents.

Daniels' 10th rebound came with 1:28 remaining in the game to earn her team-leading sixth double-double of the season. Daniels had 11 points and six rebounds in the first 20 minutes to help UCF to a 31-23 halftime lead.

Despite trailing the entire second half, the Thundering Herd kept the game close with defensive stops and points off those turnovers. However, UCF came up with big shots and clutch free-throws down the stretch to hold off Marshall for the win.

Wiley's 19 points were matched by Marshall's Tynikki Crook in the game. The UCF senior guard was 7-of-14 shooting in the game, including 4-of-10 from beyond the arc. Wiley and Daniels each had a UCF-best three assists in the victory.

Senior Jelisa Caldwell (Macon, Ga.) got into foul trouble early, relegating her to the bench for the end of the first half. But, Caldwell came on in the second to help the Knights put the Herd away in the late goings, finishing with nine points and three rebounds.

Freshman Leo Montalvo (Orlando, Fla.) eclipsed her previous career high in points set earlier this season at home against Marshall with eight points on Sunday afternoon. Freshman Erika Jones (Phenix City, Ala.) and junior Racine Davis (Tamarac, Fla.) each had five rebounds.

UCF outrebounded the Herd, 41-31, while also outshooting its opponent, 42.9 percent (27-63) to 39.2 percent (20-51) to earn the win.

Marshall's Crook had a double-double of 19 points and 10 rebounds.

The Knights will return to action Thursday night at the UCF Arena when they square off with defending C-USA champion Tulane. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
