BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF men's tennis team concluded its trip to Indiana Saturday evening, falling 5-2 to Drake at the IU Tennis Center. The Bulldogs (3-0) claimed the doubles point, and then won four singles matches.

UCF fell to 2-3 with the loss.

In singles, UCF picked up victories at No. 2, where junior Claudio Romano (Valencia, Venezuela) defeated James McKie, 7-6, 3-6, 6-4. At No. 5, junior Joe Delinks (Falmouth, Mass.) handled Jonathan Hadash, 6-4, 6-4.

UCF was also victorious at No. 1 doubles. There Delinks and senior Blaze Schwartz (Pensacola, Fla.) topped Mauricio Ballivian and Anis Ghorbel, 8-4.

"We competed well in the singles, but the doubles point was the key," UCF head coach Bobby Cashman said. "It was a good experience to play indoors and we learned a lot about ourselves this weekend. Now we need to get ready for a long string of matches at home and continue to compete and get better."

The Knights will return to action on Friday, hosting Troy at 2 p.m. at the UCF Tennis Complex. The match opens a nine-contest homestand for the Knights.
