ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Before the annual UCF Golf Fundraiser Tournament next week at the Isleworth Golf & Country Club, the UCF men's and women's golf programs are hosting an online auction at UCFAthletics.com that includes several premium golf packages. All of the proceeds from the auction will benefit the UCF men's and women's golf programs.

The list of fabulous gifts and packages can be found online at UCFAthletics.com on both of the men's and women's golf team homepages.

The 2011 UCF Golf Fundraiser Tournament will take place on Monday, Jan. 24, and was limited to 18 foursomes, with available spaces selling out in record time. The day at Isleworth includes lunch, 18 holes of golf, dinner with an open bar and a live auction. UCF men's golf coach Bryce Wallor, women's golf coach Courtney Trimble, former UCF star and PGA TOUR professional Cliff Kresge and current LPGA star Brittany Lang will participate in the tournament. UCF alumus D. Brent Carli is serving as the tournament chair.

"The foundation of every golf program at every university starts with great support from the community," Wallor said. "Brent Carli and his family have been tremendous in organizing this fundraiser each year. This fundraiser helps us develop our facilities and enables our program to compete for championships at the highest level. Last year's event at Isleworth was excellent, and we expect the same this year."

Proceeds from past fundraiser tournaments helped UCF construct its new practice facility near campus, and also purchase a team van that is used for travel to events.

"The funds raised from the tournament and the auction allow us to do things for our program that help elevate us and allow us to compete on the national level," Trimble said. "Last year the fundraiser helped in purchasing an incredible van, which we use for team travel. The fundraiser is a huge part of our program, and there are a lot of things that we would not be able to do without it."

For more information on the auction or about giving to the UCF golf programs, please contact D. Brent Carli at (407) 230-3600 or Nate Thornton in the Golden Knights Club office at (407) 823-0097.
