LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The 2011 College Cheerleading and Dance National Championships are underway at ESPN's Wide World of Sports, and UCF is anxiously looking forward to the final day of action Sunday. Knightro and KnightMoves have already competed, and the cheerleaders will take the stage for the finals Sunday as well.
KnightMoves already received a spot in the pom dance finals which are scheduled for Sunday at 10:32 a.m. On Saturday, they participated in the Division IA Jazz semifinals but were unable to advance.
UCF's cheerleaders received an automatic bye into the Division IA Finals and will perform Sunday with the competition set to begin at 6:30 p.m.
The weekend opened up Friday evening with the mascot competition, where Knightro earned ninth place in the country in the Division IA finals. Minnesota's Goldy Gopher took home top honors.
