ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - A year of milestones for the UCF football program continued early Tuesday morning with the release of the final national Top 25 polls, rankings which include the Knights for the first time ever.

On the heels of winning a school-record 11 games, capturing the Conference USA championship and recording the program's first bowl win, a 10-6 defeat of Georgia in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl, the Knights moved up to No. 20 in the final USA Today Coaches Poll and No. 21 in the final AP Poll. Not only are both the first final rankings in school history but they are also historic high-water marks for the Knights at any point in a season.

The final ranking for football also places the Knights in the enviable position of remaining on the very short list of schools that are ranked in both football and men's basketball. The Knights are joined in this elite grouping by Michigan State, Missouri, Ohio State, Texas A&M and Wisconsin.

It is the first time in C-USA history that the league has had two teams ranked in the final poll as Tulsa, which will travel to Orlando to face the Knights in 2011, is ranked No. 24 in the final AP poll.

It is never too early to make your plans to see the Knights in action as they defend the Conference USA championship. Place your deposit now for 2011 football season tickets. Contact the UCF Athletics ticket office at (407) 823-1000 for more information.
