ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Over 56,000 UCF students returned to campus on Monday for the spring semester to nice temperatures and got to catch up on what they did while away for break. As for us here at UCFAthletics.com, we were busy chronicling one of the greatest moments in UCF's sports history - the No. 24 Knights' win over Georgia in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl on Dec. 31.
Thousands of Knights fans made their way to Memphis and were not disappointed by either the great nightlife on Beale Street or the game itself as UCF posted C-USA's first-ever bowl win over an SEC team. UCF's defense held Georgia to just a pair of field goals in the contest - particularly impressive considering that the Bulldogs had averaged 39.25 points per game (and never fewer than 27) with soon-to-be first round NFL Draft pick A.J. Green in the lineup at wide receiver.
