ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Conference USA Commissioner Britton Banowsky announced Tuesday that UCF volleyball's Kristin Fisher was one of 12 student-athletes selected to receive the C-USA Fall Spirit of Service Award. The C-USA Spirit of Service Award is designed to recognize the community service efforts of the league's student-athletes, based upon significant community service, good academic standing and participation in their elected sport.

The Spirit of Service Award is presented three times throughout the year, with Fisher and her fellow honorees representing the C-USA's fall sports: football, soccer, volleyball and cross country.

In 2010, Fisher was named to the All-C-USA Second Team after posting 495 kills on the season to rank 10th all-time on the UCF single-season register, while also ranking among the nation's best in kills per set and points per set. She became the Knights' first C-USA Offensive Player of the Week on Nov. 29, while also being one of only three players all-time to be named to the C-USA All-Academic Team.

Away from the volleyball court, Fisher volunteered at the Florida Hospital Pediatric Intensive Care unit and has been a four-year volunteer at both the Central Florida Children's Home and the Clothes to Kids Organization.

While maintaining a 3.755 GPA as a health sciences major, Fisher has also given time to the Friends of Jaclyn Foundation, volunteered at National Girls and Women in Sports Day and was a member of the UCF Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

The senior is a three-time member of the C-USA Commissioner's Academic Honor Roll and a two-time C-USA Commissioner's Academic Medal recipient, while earning the UCF volleyball Scholar-Athlete Award in 2009.

Fisher plans to graduate this spring and is pursuing a career in nursing.
