ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Over the course of the last four years seniors Jelisa Caldwell (Macon, Ga.) and Angelica Mealing (Decatur, Ga.) have played 47 home games at the UCF Arena. And like many of those games, Saturday morning saw family and friends cheering from the stands, but this time for very different reasons. Caldwell and Mealing graduated with their bachelor's degrees in a ceremony Saturday morning for undergraduate students at the UCF Arena.
"What a great day for Jelly, Jelisa, their families and our basketball program," said head coach Joi Williams. "This is a special group of seniors because they are the first group of players that our staff recruited to UCF. I am extremely proud of their growth as young women and what they've been able to accomplish on and off the court."
Both Mealing and Caldwell graduated with degrees in Interpersonal Organizational Communications with minors in Marketing.
Chelsie Wiley (Riviera Beach, Fla.) earned her bachelor's degree last May, while Leah Paige (Atlanta, Ga.) and D'Nay Daniels (Atlanta, Ga.) are both on pace to graduate this coming spring.
The Knights return to action Monday when they host Jacksonville at 7 p.m. Ticket are available by calling (407) UCF-1000 or by visiting UCFathletics.com.
