ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF women's tennis head coach Stephanie Nickitas announced that Artijeta Goxhuli has signed a grant-in-aid to play for the Knights in 2011-12. The London native spent three years playing in Florida, including earning a full scholarship at the Nick Bolletieri Tennis Academy as a junior.

"I'm very pleased to announce that Artijeta Goxhuli from London, England, will be joining our team next fall," said Nickitas. "Artijeta brings a wealth of international experience with her. She is extremely disciplined, independent and mature. These qualities are key since she will be our only freshman next year. Artijeta lived and trained in Florida when she was younger which will help her feel more comfortable in her transition. She has a very solid all-court game and I expect Artijeta to contribute in singles and doubles right away."

While in Florida, Goxhuli made the U18 final at the Sunrise Jr. Champs and won the U16 Bangoura Jr. Champs in singles as well as the Jr. Academy Super Series in doubles.

Across the pond, Goxhuli played for Great Britain in the European Cup and was a quarterfinalist at the Sutton Junior ITF (International Tennis Federation). She has a LTA (Lawn Tennis Association) rating of 2.2 and reached No. 662 in the ITF highlighted by numerous victories over players inside the top 150.

Goxhuli also earned titles at the 18 and under Middlesex County Closed event, while she represented her home county of Middlesex and went on to win the 18 and under County Cup national competition. Goxhuli was a finalist at the Welsh Senior Championships, and was ranked in the women's top 40 in Great Britain, the top five in Middlesex and in the top five as a junior in Great Britain.

In the classroom, Goxhuli went to Uxbridge College and will be coming to UCF out of Middlesex University.
