ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - It's time for the Central Florida community to rise up in support of their hometown Knights and help pack Bright House Networks Stadium for a truly historic occasion this Saturday. Less than 10,000 tickets remained for Saturday's nationally-televised Conference USA Championship Game featuring No. 25 UCF against SMU heading into Wednesday.
A great fan turnout on Saturday will ensure that UCF claims each of the top three crowds in C-USA Championship Game history.
TOP FIVE C-USA CHAMPIONSHIP GAME CROWDS
51,978 Tulsa at UCF, 2005
44,128 Tulsa at UCF, 2007
?????? SMU at UCF, 2010
33,048 Houston at East Carolina, 2009
31,818 Southern Miss at Houston, 2006
The Knights are ranked No. 25 in this week's USA Today Coaches Poll on the strength of a 9-3 record in 2010 and 7-1 mark in C-USA play. True freshman quarterback Jeff Godfrey stands eighth in the nation with his 164.79 efficiency rating and stands in the company of America's elite signal callers in this regard. Quincy McDuffie is third nationally in kickoff returns and, on the heels of a strong showing at Memphis, Josh Robinson has moved up to fifth nationally in punt returns.
In addition to a team which tops C-USA in four of the five major defensive categories (rushing, scoring, total and passing efficiency defense), the Knights have excelled as individuals as well.
Tickets are just $30 and can be purchased online at TicketMaster.com, which includes the convenient print at home option. In addition, the UCF Athletics ticket office will be open for extended hours all this week long and can be reached at (407) 823-1000 from 8 a.m. until 7 p.m. today through Friday and starting at 8 a.m. on Saturday.
