ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF volleyball team was a double honoree for the first time in program history Monday as senior Kristin Fisher (Clearwater, Fla.) and junior Rachel Vukson (Oakville, Ont.) were recognized by Conference USA with its Offensive Player and Setter of the Week accolades, respectively, for their performances in the Knights' league series sweep vs. UTEP last week.

The recognition is the first for Fisher in her career and the first C-USA Offensive Player of the Week honor for a Knight since joining the league in 2005. Vukson was honored by the league for the first time as a member of the UCF volleyball team and for the second time in her career, as she earned the same distinction in 2008 while playing at Tulsa.

The duo helped the Black and Gold to a pair of 3-0 victories against the Miners during the week, which led the Knights to their best Conference USA record in program history (9-11), while also helping the program to its best overall record (16-16) since 2003.

Fisher concluded her career by averaging 4.67 kills, 5.17 points and 3.33 digs per set against UTEP. The outside hitter opened the week with her 13th double-double of the season with 12 kills and 11 digs Wednesday, before following that performance with a career-high .400 attack percentage with 16 kills and nine digs Saturday at home. Her 16 kills in the match pushed her season kill total to 495, which gave her sole possession of the 10th spot on the program's single-season record chart and is the highest season total for a Knight since 2002.

Vukson averaged 10.33 assists per set and led the team to a hitting efficiency of .325 in the pair of contests vs. the Miners. She dished out 41 assists to help UCF to a .288 attack percentage in the opening match Wednesday in El Paso, while also adding five block assists and two digs. She then helped the squad to a season-high .365 attack percentage after distributing 21 assists in Saturday's outing at The Venue at UCF. Vukson also landed three service aces, three kills and had four digs in the win.

Prior to Monday's announcement by league officials, UCF had two previous C-USA Setter of the Week honorees. Andee Youngblood earned the distinction on Aug. 31, 2009, while Lauren Rosenthal was a two-time honoree. She was named Setter of the Week on Sept. 22, and Oct. 6, during the 2008 season.
