HIGHLAND PARK, ILL. (UCFAthletics.com) - Freshman Kaitlyn Price (Jacksonville Beach, Fla.) fired a final round 76 on Tuesday as the UCF women's golf team concluded its three rounds of play at the Windy City Collegiate Championship, hosted by Northwestern at the par-71, 6,108-yard Northmoor Country Club in Highland Park, Ill.
Overall, UCF shot a 955 (+103) to finish in 11th place in a solid field that included seven of the country's top 50 teams. No. 8 Purdue won the 54-hole tournament by seven strokes with a 876 (+24).
Price topped all UCF competitors, and tied for 33rd overall with a 233 for the three rounds. Sophomore Carolin Pinegger (Marquartstein, Germany) took home a 240 to rank second amongst the Knights, senior Katie Detlefsen (Eagan, Minn.) shot a 242, sophomore Valentina Fontaine (Santiago, Chile) carded a 243 while sophomore Sunny Harris rounded out the Knight competitors with her 251.
UCF will have close to a month off before competing again from Oct. 31-Nov. 2 in San Antonio, Texas at the Alamo Invitational.
