UCF head coach George O'Leary
On the team win...
"Good team win, give them credit, they (ECU) made a bunch of plays and we made a bunch of mistakes, but the kids hung in there. Offensively, we moved the ball and the chains and moved it very efficiently on the ground and in the air. Good team win, we will enjoy this win tonight and get ready for Houston tomorrow night. Each game a different group has their day, offense, defense or special teams."

How they had ECU off-balance...
"I thought we were getting good yards on the ground especially on the right side, we probably could have thrown it more. When it got to the fourth quarter and the clock is moving that's an invaluable way to get first downs. The best play in football is the kill play and that's a great feeling to be able to do.

On the one turnover (onside kick)...
"We knew they had two kickers, we got a hand on it but they did a nice job on it.Nice execution on their part."

On going for it on fourth and goal at the one...
"I made my mind up as soon as they said we had fourth down. It's such a big momentum break when you don't make those kicks. We have to get that cleaned up because later it could really hurt us."

On the offense...
"They have been playing more consistently. Ronnie Weaver has been doing a great job running the ball by staying in bounds on the sidelines while still getting the first down. That's a real heads-up play and I think that we are putting more guys in to complement the line. We need to put the ball in the air more; Jeff is feeling at home in some situations, he does a great job of creating plays with his feet."

On not trying to get into a track meet...
"We gave up to many big plays, down the sideline, we made too many situations where we had to make plays on third down, our coverage was a little soft. We got good pressure from the defensive line."

Senior wide receiver Brian Watters
"It's probably our biggest win. It's the biggest game of my career and probably of everyone's career on the team now. It's a great feeling. It was a big game. We were two great teams going at it. I'm just happy we got the win."

"Coach Taaffe did a great job of coordinating our offense. We found a lot of openings and hit a lot of weak spots on the defense. We did a great job of making plays out there. The line did a great job. I think jumping on top 14-0 really shocked ECU."

Freshman quarterback Jeff Godfrey
"We prepare by watching film. We have better reads. We've just been doing a great job. We had the confidence to move the ball, running and passing. We just played football."

"I just go out there and have fun, that's all I do. I want to win games."

Senior linebacker Lawrence Young
"When you have offense going out there and scoring, it motivates you to go out and work hard as well. It felt great. It's my last year and we haven't beaten ECU since I've been here. It feels good to get a victory over them finally. The mindset is focused. We have to focus on the other team and what we're supposed to do to stop them. Our goal is to win the conference championship so we focus on that."

"We had to come to the sideline and make corrections. The main thing is we had to go out there and play hard. Just make sure we have more points at the end of the game."

Junior defensive lineman Darius Nall
"We were very excited. It was great to come off a win today. We were ready for the end but I'm glad we got through it. This win ranks at the top of the list for my career. It's a great feeling right now. The last five years we haven't gotten a win and our main goal is to go to the conference championship."

"We'll have to go watch film to understand what we did wrong and get ready for next week. This is a great team right here. It's one of the best teams I've ever been on. I see only good things for the rest of this year. We had to stop some passes and we fixed that."

Senior linebacker Derrick Hallman
"This win ranks at number one. This is the only team in the conference that we haven't beat [since I've been here]. It feels great. I still can't believe it. It's kind of surreal. We gave up a few plays especially on third down. We control our own destiny and we don't want any conference losses. We just want to go to the conference championship and win that as well."

"Our big plays were huge. The offense really did its job. I don't think we punted once. They kept us well rested. We never had to worry about offense going three and out. People called ECU our biggest rival but you can't call them a rival unless you beat them."
