ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - In recognition of Saturday's big football game between UCF and East Carolina, both undefeated in Conference USA play, Orlando Mayor Buddy Dyer has declared Friday to be "Black and Gold Day" and has encouraged the city's residents to support their local team by wearing black and gold. Additionally, the new Amway Center's tower will be black and gold tomorrow.

"This is a very exciting time for UCF and Central Florida as the winner of this game will likely host the Conference USA title game," said Mayor Dyer. "Wearing black and gold tomorrow is just one way our community can rally behind our hometown team. Go Knights!"

The official mayoral proclamation is linked above as a PDF file.

The winner of Saturday's tilt between UCF (3-0 in C-USA) and ECU (4-0 in C-USA) will clearly be in the driver's seat to host the Conference USA Championship Game on December 4. It is the latest that two teams which are undefeated in C-USA play have faced off since the 2003 season and will pit UCF's elite defense against one of the country's top passing attacks in ECU. UCF and ECU have won each of the last three C-USA championships between them.

The Knights have two more exciting home games left in the 2010 regular season, both of which will help determine the Conference USA East Division champion. Standing at 3-0 in C-USA play, UCF's biggest league rivals come to town on Saturday, Oct. 30 with the East Carolina Pirates, 4-0 in C-USA play. The home finale will be Saturday, Nov. 13 against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles, 2-1 in the league this year. Saturday's game will also feature Knightro's Halloween Pregame Bash on IOA Plaza and also one lucky UCF fan will be selected as the 1,000,000th fan to come to Bright House Networks Stadium since it opened in 2007.

An affordable two-game mini-plan for the remaining 2010 home football games at Bright House Networks Stadium is currently available by calling the UCF Athletics Ticket Office at 407-UCF-1000 or logging on to UCFAthletics.com.
