Huntington, W.Va.
TEAM NOTES
- UCF's 4-2 start is the best for the Knights since opening the 1998 season at 5-1.
- The Knights improve to 2-0 in Conference USA play for the first time since 2005 and the second time in school history.
- UCF has now won eight-consecutive C-USA games, matching East Carolina for the nation's fifth-longest league winning streak behind Boise State (17), Cincinnati (12), Troy (12) and TCU (11).
- The Knights have now won all six meetings with Marshall as C-USA members after losing all three meetings as members of the MAC from 2002-04. The six-consecutive wins match the most by UCF over a single opponent, tying an active streak of six-straight wins over Bethune-Cookman which UCF last faced in 1995.
- UCF's three interception returns for a touchdown this year are a school record topping the two in 1981, 1993 and 2007. The C-USA record is four done four times, most recently by Rice in 2008. A.J. Bouye's interception return for a touchdown tonight joins a 30-yard score by Bruce Miller at Buffalo and a 29-yard return by Troy Davis last week against UAB.
- UCF now has four defensive scores this season: the three interception return touchdowns and a 56-yard fumble return for a touchdown by Josh Robinson last week against UAB.
- The Knights led 40:09 in time of possession.
- UCF has outgained each of its opponents this year except for Buffalo.
- Of UCF's 23 touchdowns this year, 15 have been rushing, four on defense, one on special teams and three passing.
- Six games into the season, Marshall became just the first team to throw for over 200 yards against UCF.
- The Knights have now led at the half in five out of six games this year with the lone exception coming against NC State on Sept. 11. Despite going 8-5 last year, UCF led just three games at halftime.
- With Rob Calabrese and A.J. Bouye joining the ranks tonight, 13 different Knights have scored a touchdown this year.
- UCF has scored first in five of its six games this year with the lone exception being against NC State.
- The game featured a 1:08 lightning delay in the second quarter. It is the second-consecutive road game in which UCF has had an extended weather delay, joining the 1:26 stoppage at Kansas State on Sept. 25.
INDIVIDUAL NOTES
- Ronnie Weaver had his second 100-yard game in three games, joining his 130 at Kansas State on Sept. 25. His 150 rushing yards are a career-high as were his 30 carries. It was the best rushing effort by a Knight since Brynn Harvey's 219-yard game against Memphis on Oct. 3, 2009.
- A.J. Bouye made his first-career interception and had his first-career score.
- Jeff Godfrey had his second-career multiple-TD game after also rushing for two scores against NC State on Sept. 11. He is one of four active Knights who have scored two touchdowns in a game in his UCF career.
- Jamar Newsome's 70-yard kickoff return in the second quarter to the Marshall 18 was his second longest but non-scoring kickoff return in his career. He had an 89-yard kickoff return against Southern Miss last year that did not score.
- Bruce Miller made his 40th-career start tonight and his 51st-career tackle for loss. He also had three QB hurries.
