ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Over the summer, UCF head coach Donnie Jones announced the creation of the UCF Victory Club, a booster organization that will support the Knights' men's basketball program. On Monday, Jones hosted over 30 guests for the inaugural UCF Victory Club luncheon.
The event was held on the third floor of the UCF Basketball Practice Facility. The main function of the UCF Victory Club is to provide fan and financial support to the men's basketball program.
During the luncheon, Jones introduced his coaching staff and gave a preview of the 2010-11 Knights. He talked about each player, and discussed his goals for the future of the program. Jones also participated in a question and answer session.
Jones, who was named the program's head coach in late March, has high hopes for the UCF Victory Club. On Monday, he told the guests how their support makes a difference. Jones also spoke about how joining the UCF Victory Club allows supporters the opportunity to take ownership in the program.
"We want you to be a part of our team," he said. "This is your program. We want to bring people in this inner circle."
Jones hopes to have around eight similar luncheons per year. For more information on the UCF Victory Club, call the men's basketball office at (407) 823-5805.
