ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Kemal Ishmael was named the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week and now has been honored with the Bright House Student-Athlete of the Week.
Ishmael made seven tackles, six of them solo, and forced two turnovers helping the Knights to a 42-7 victory over UAB last Wednesday. Ishmael now has 22 solo tackles on the season and is leading the team with a total of 32 tackles.
UCF (3-2, 1-0 C-USA) will put its seven-game C-USA winning streak on the line on Wednesday night as it heads north to face Marshall (1-4, 0-1) at 8 p.m. live on ESPN.
