ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Monday marks the beginning of a busy, but exciting week for the UCF men's basketball team. The highlight of the eventful stretch will come Friday afternoon when the Knights have their first official practice in preparation for the upcoming campaign.

On Monday and Tuesday, head coach Donnie Jones will guide his team through hour-long workouts inside the UCF Practice Facility. Jones is implementing his up-tempo style of play at UCF, and the sessions will give the Knights a final opportunity to learn more about his system before practices start.

Jones will be doing his share to promote his program this week. On Monday, he is slated to appear on Inside the Locker Room on 740 The Game in Orlando around 6:30 p.m. to talk about the upcoming season with hosts Gary Cohl and Lee Goldberg.

On Tuesday, Jones and the 11 other Conference USA head coaches will head to New York City. The following day, the group will tape a C-USA preview show that will air on CBS College Sports at a later date. Jones will be back in Orlando in time for UCF's media day, which is slated for Thursday morning.

UCF's first official practice will occur Friday afternoon inside the UCF Practice Facility.

The Knights will open the 2010-11 campaign on Nov. 12, hosting West Florida. In total, the squad will play 17 games at the UCF Arena this year. Season tickets, which start at just $96 and include a free Knightmare t-shirt, are currently available by calling (407) UCF-1000 or by visiting UCFAthletics.com.

Fans can get a sneak peek at the Knights during UCF Basketball Postgame Madness on Oct. 23. The free event, which will be held inside the UCF Arena following the conclusion of the Knights' football game versus Rice on campus, will include an inter-squad scrimmage and an autograph session.
