ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The UCF Fall Tournament wrapped up Sunday, when the UCF women's tennis team posted four victories on the singles courts against Missouri.
"We definitely made an improvement from last tournament to this tournament, which is what we are looking for," said head coach Stephanie Nickitas. "I am happy we had three great days of tennis and it was great playing on our home courts."
Sophomores Jenna Doerfler and Genevieve Lorbergs had little problems in their matches only dropping five games or less in their respective matches. Freshman Courtney Griffith had a solid performance in her win over Jamie Mera, 6-4, 6-4. Junior Taylor Dubins dropped her first set, but fought her way back to a super third-set tie-breaker where she defeated Annemijn Koenen, 3-6, 6-1, 12-10.
The Knights are now preparing for the ITA Regionals in Athens, Ga. Oct. 22-24.
