ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF assistant volleyball coach Michelle Chatman has been selected to represent USA Volleyball at the Minority Women in Coaching Conference Oct. 6-8 at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

"It is a significant honor to be selected as the sole representative of USA Volleyball to attend the Minority Women in Coaching Conference," Chatman said. "I am looking forward to being surrounded by women looking to improve themselves in the coaching profession. There are several guests on the schedule that I am excited to hear speak and interact with. I will be eager to return and share the wealth of knowledge gained from this conference with our staff and our team."

The USOC hosts the Minority Women in Coaching Conference annually through a matching grant from the NCAA. It is an outstanding opportunity to develop and hone leadership skills for female and minority coaches and is a popular part of the USOC's Educational Conference Series.

This year's keynote speaker will be Benita Fitzgerald Mosley, who is the Chief of Sport Performance for USA Track and Field and an Olympic Gold Medalist.

Chatman will also have the opportunity to hear from:
? Jay Coakley - Ph.D. Professor of Sociology - University of Colorado-Colorado Springs
? Kirsten Peterson, Ph.D. Sport Psychology
? Amanda Wittenmyer - Strength and Conditioning Coordinator - United States Olympic Committee
? Rhonda Blanford-Green - Colorado High School Activities Association
? Susan Schoenberg - National Association for Sport and Physical Education
? Angela Lumpkin - Ph.D. Professor, University of Kansas
