ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - When the UCF men's basketball team faces Miami on Dec. 18 as part of the MetroPCS Orange Bowl Classic in Sunrise, the contest will be televised live nationally on FoxSports Net. The game will start at 1 p.m. at the BankAtlantic Center.
UCF-Miami is part of an impressive doubleheader. After the Knights face the Hurricanes, Kansas State will meet Florida.
The Knights are entering their first campaign under new head coach Donnie Jones. Miami went 20-13 in 2009-10 and advanced to the Atlantic Coast Conference Tournament semifinals for the first time in program history.
UCF has not played the Hurricanes since 2002. The appearance in the MetroPCS Orange Bowl Classic will be the first for the Knights. The event is in its 16th year.
Tickets for the doubleheader are currently available by contacting the Orange Bowl Committee ticket sales office at (305) 341-4702 or by visiting OrangeBowl.org.
The Knights will open the year on Nov. 12, hosting West Florida at the UCF Arena. In total, the squad will play 17 games at home. Season tickets, which start at just $96 and include a free Knightmare t-shirt, are currently available by calling (407) UCF-1000 or by visiting UCFAthletics.com.
