ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - With its two home meets of the season already passed, the UCF cross country team will spend the rest of the season away from Orlando in preparation for the Conference USA Championships. The Knights will start their stretch run leading up to the C-USA meet with the FLRunners.com Invitational Friday at 6 p.m. at Chain of lakes Park in Titusville.

UCF hosted the Knight Attack Invitational this past Friday, finishing first in a field of five teams. For the third time this season the Knights' top runner was senior Ocean Cohen. Her time of 18:54.84 was a season best and an improvement of 1:10 from her first race of 2010, also on the UCF Cross Country Course on Sept. 10.

The Knights won the meet with six of the top 10 finishers. Following Cohen was Alyssa Franks. Franks' fifth-place showing was the best of her career, crossing in 19:29.19. Freshman Sierra Solaun and senior Carley Dart finished sixth and seventh, respectively. Solaun's time of 19:35.97 was a personal best by 13 seconds, while Dart's 19:36.33 finish was her best of the season. Danielle Scaffidi was the final UCF runner in the scoring, picking up eight points with an eighth-place finish of 19:48.46. Crossing the line next for the Knights was Ne'Ausha Logan in ninth place in a time of 20:18.45.

In all, eight UCF runners posted person-best times on a 5K course that was soaked by heavy rain falls during the race. Aisha-Maree Frazier's time of 24:21.62 bested her previous season best by more three minutes.

Friday's event in Titusville will also feature several high school races prior to the start of the women's collegiate race at 6 p.m. The men's collegiate race will start following the conclusion of the women's race, tentatively set for 6:25 p.m.

Looking forward, the Knights will run next weekend in the Disney Cross Country Classic on Oct. 9. The C-USA Championships are set for Nov. 1 in Tulsa, Okla.
