ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - With nearly half of the season already gone by, the UCF men's soccer team can look back at positive notes and forward to continued success. Playing a solid style of soccer that accentuates a firm, unforgiving defense and an aggressive offense, the Knights currently hold a 5-2-0 record. This season, the team has scored more than three times the amount of goals that it has allowed.

League Leader: The Knights' defense is holding strong, allowing only five goals in seven games. The five goals are the fewest allowed for any Conference USA team this year.

Getting Goals: In just seven games in 2010, UCF has outscored its opponents by a margin of 16-5. To date, the Knights are on pace to surpass last season's goal total of 25. Currently the team has scored 16 goals in seven games for an average of 2.3 per contest.

Ready, Aim, Fire: UCF has outshot its opponents 100-79 through seven games with nearly half of the total attempts having found their way on goal. The Knights are averaging 14.3 shots per game, while holding opponents to an average of just over 11.

Help Me Out: The Knights have recorded 15 assists on their 16 goals in 2010. Sophomore Nik Robson and junior Spencer Scott both lead the team with four assists apiece.

Team Leader: Robson leads the Knights in all offensive categories and ranks amongst the nation's top offensive players. The sophomore from Auckland, New Zealand ranks fourth in the country in points (16) and points per game (2.29). Robson is tenth in total goals with six, while ranking eighth in goals per game (0.86).

Cool Under Pressure: Robson has smoothly netted all three of the team's penalty kicks this season. The Knights had just two opportunities all of last season, connecting on one.

The Knights return home on Saturday, Oct. 2 for a conference game against SMU at 7 p.m. Both teams are 1-0 in C-USA play after UCF's victory over Marshall and SMU's defeat of UAB.
