ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Once again the UCF women's soccer team is making waves across the country as it has moved up to No. 18 in the latest Soccer America top-25 poll. The Knights are 7-2-1 on the season and 2-0-0 in Conference USA as they are trying to make a run at their second-straight C-USA regular-season title and their fourth-consecutive appearance in the NCAA Tournament.
UCF, which hosts the C-USA Championship Nov. 3-7, defeated East Carolina and Marshall at home last weekend to continue its climb up the rankings. The Black and Gold also has key victories over Arizona State, San Diego State, Harvard and South Florida this year.
The Knights are ranked No. 25 in the National Soccer Coaches Association of America poll this week and third in the Central Region. They are 21st in the country in scoring offense in 2010, averaging 2.4 goals per match.
Looking to remain in first place in C-USA, UCF carries an 11-match C-USA regular-season winning streak into this weekend's action where it travels to Memphis (7-3-0, 1-1-0) Friday and UAB (4-5-1, 0-1-1) Sunday. The Tigers were ranked most of the season before dropping out this past week, and were the last C-USA team to defeat UCF in the regular season.
