CORAL GABLES, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - After a rain-soaked day one Friday, the UCF women's tennis team got in a full day of work Saturday at the Miami Fall Invitational. Freshman Courtney Griffith made her debut as a Knight and went 2-0, while Taylor Dubins also was a perfect 2-0 in Coral Gables.

UCF opened up Saturday by facing Michigan, which finished last spring ranked No. 8 in the country, in seven singles matches. Dubins had little trouble in her match against Kari Wig, posting a 6-1, 6-2 victory. And Griffith looked strong in the first set against Rika Tatsuno only to drop the second set. But the freshman settled down to get her first-collegiate win, 6-3, 3-6, 6-4.

Following singles action, the Black and Gold met South Florida and Florida International in doubles, and the Knights were able to claim wins in two of three matches vs. the Bulls. Griffith teamed up with Genevieve Lorbergs to produce an 8-6 triumph over Janette Bejlkova and Loreta Alonso Martinez. It was Lorbergs' first win at UCF after she redshirted last year. And Dubins partnered with freshman Josephine Haraldson, who also notched her first victory as a Knight, in an 8-6 win vs. Allesandra Bonte Ale and Kate Parker.

The third and final day of this weekend's event will get underway Sunday morning as the Knights are slated to take on Miami in doubles at 1 p.m. and South Florida in singles at 3 p.m.
