IRVING, Texas (UCFAthletics.com) - After claiming medalist honors in only his second collegiate event yesterday, UCF freshman Greg Eason (Leicestershire, England) was named the Conference USA Men's Golfer of the Week Wednesday. Eason won the individual title at the Adams Cup of Newport in Rhode Island Tuesday, leading the Knights to the championship at the 17-team event.
He is the second-straight Knight to earn C-USA Men's Golfer of the Week honors.
Eason finished the three-round tournament at the Newport National Golf Club at 214 (-2). He carded a 3-under 69 during the second round, and concluded the event with a 1-under 71 on the final 18.
Last week, UCF junior Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.) garnered conference honors winning the Wolf Run Intercollegiate individual title in Indiana.
