ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - In July, former UCF outfielder Chris Duffy traveled to Anaheim, Calif., as a finalist for the USA Baseball Golden Spikes Award, which is handed out annually to the nation's top player (MLB No. 1 Draft Pick Bryce Harper won the award). Along with the ceremony at All-Star FanFest, Duffy got to take the field at Angels Stadium for All-Star Workouts and meet several players during batting practice.

A four-year letterwinner for the Knights, Duffy was named a First-Team All-American by several outlets in 2010 after shattering Conference USA and UCF records with a .447 average and an .850 slugging percentage.
UCF's all-time home run king with 21 dingers in 2010 and 43 lifetime (tying with Bobby Kiser), Duffy was drafted in the 26th round by Philadelphia in June. He is now playing the Gulf Coast League in Clearwater where he is hitting .272 with six homers and 32 RBI in 47 games.
