ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Members of the UCF men's basketball team began fall classes Monday. On Wednesday, the Knights will return to the court for the first of 21 individual workout sessions with the UCF coaching staff.
The NCAA permits coaches to work for two hours per week with each student-athlete prior to practice officially starting in October.
The workouts will give the Knights' numerous newcomers the opportunity to work with head coach Donnie Jones and his staff for the first time. UCF's returnees spent a little time during the spring working with the staff.
"As a staff, we are really looking forward to the start of individual workouts," Jones said. "It will give us the chance to see what our guys worked on and improved on over the summer."
Jones has established some goals for the workouts.
"There are four things that we will try to get done," he said. "There will be a lot of fundamental teaching. There will be a lot of skills work. Number three is conditioning. We also want to get them adapted to our style of play."
