ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Last week, UCF head coach Bryce Wallor announced the Knights' 2010-11 schedule. The slate includes some of the top tournaments in the country.
Wallor recently took time to discuss each one of the team's regular-season events:
Wolf Run Intercollegiate - Zionsville, Ind. (Sept. 11-12)
"Wolf Run is a 2011 NCAA Regional site. We are excited about getting out there and participating on a golf course that we might play in the posteason."
Adam's Cup of Newport - Middletown, R.I. (Sept. 20-21)
"This year for me, it is not only a homecoming event, but a retirement party for the coach that I played for at Rhode Island, Tom Drennan. That will be a special event for me personally."
The Prestige at PGA WEST - La Quinta, Calif. (Oct. 10-12)
"At PGA WEST, we will play a golf course that hosts tour school just about every other year. I think it is an amazing opportunity for our young men to play on a golf course that is PGA TOUR caliber. It might be a place someday where they earn their PGA TOUR card."
Isleworth Collegiate Invitational - Windermere, Fla. (Oct. 24-26)
"There is no finer golf course. The degree of difficulty, the way the course is manicured and the field itself make this one of the best events in the country every year."
Gator Invitational - Gainesville, Fla. (Feb. 12-13)
"We will play a fantastic field on one of the country's best university golf courses. It will be a homecoming for (assistant coach) Toby Ragland. He has a lot of course knowledge there."
John Hayt Invitational - Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. (Feb. 27-March 1)
"We are again playing in the John Hayt at the Sawgrass Country Club. The Sawgrass Country Club used to host the Player's Championship before TPC Sawgrass was built. It is a fantastic venue."
USF Invitational - Tampa, Fla. (March 4-6)
"We are playing the USF tournament at Lake Jovita. We are looking forward to that. I have played there in my college days. It is usually a large field that brings a lot of different teams in from around the country."
Rio Pinar Invitational - Orlando, Fla. (March 14-15)
"We are looking forward to having the opportunity to defend our championship from last year. We will play and practice at that golf course all year."
BancorpSouth Intercollegiate - Madison, Miss (April 4-5)
"We will conclude the regular season at Ole Miss' event at Reunion. It is a fantastic golf course. It had some of the best conditioned greens that we played on last year. It also has a fantastic field."
