ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF men's golf coach Bryce Wallor announced the addition of Greg Eason to the Knights' impressive recruiting class. A native of Leicesterhire, England, Eason will begin his collegiate career this fall.
Recognized as one of the top junior players in England, Eason will arrive in Orlando after participating in some prestigious events in Europe.
In July, he was a member of England's squad at the European Boys' Team Championship in Turkey. Earlier this month, he participated with England at the Boys' Home Internationals. This summer, Eason claimed the Leicesterhire County Amateur Matchplay title.
"Greg is the final piece to our 2010 recruiting class," Wallor said. "Greg came very highly recommended both athletically and personally from individuals who are well respected in the golf community. We are excited to see the impact that he will have over his four years here."
This spring, Eason finished third at the Peter McEvoy Trophy and second at the Darwin Salver in England. In 2009, Eason advanced to the third round at the British Boys' Amateur Championship.
Eason will join fellow freshmen Hojin Kang, Han Kim and Kyle Wilshire on UCF's 2010-11 squad. Last season, which served as Wallor's first campaign in Orlando, the Knights claimed the Conference USA Championship and participated in the NCAA Regionals.
