ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - As the UCF men's soccer team looks ahead to the 2010 home opener vs. Jacksonville Sept. 1, junior Kevan George (Decatur, Ga.) was voted onto the Conference USA Preseason Team by the league's head coaches Wednesday. George is coming off a 2009 campaign in which he was an All-C-USA Second Team honoree.
A midfielder for the Knights, George was honored for the second time in as many years with his postseason all-conference accolades in 2009. The midfielder was named to the All-C-USA First Team as a freshman and to the C-USA Preseason Team prior to the 2009 season. George switched to play more of a defensive midfield last year, but still finished the campaign with three assists.
George also completed 2009 with 10 overall shots, six on goal. He started all 13 games he played in for the Black and Gold.
Along with hosting JU Sept. 1, UCF will welcome Tampa (Aug. 23) and Saint Leo (Aug. 28) to the UCF Soccer Complex for a pair of scrimmages before the season gets underway.
