ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - In preparation for the 2011 campaign, the UCF men's tennis squad will face a fall schedule that includes some of the top events in the southeast. Head coach Bobby Cashman announced the fall slate, which features five tournaments, Wednesday.

The Knights will open the fall Sept. 17-19 at the Gator Invitational in Gainesville. Other squads competing at the event include the host Gators and USF. UCF will then head to Athens, Ga., for the Southern Intercollegiates (Sept. 24-27). Cashman's team will then conclude the fall with three tournaments in Florida. The stretch begins Oct. 8-10 close to home as UCF will again participate in the C.L. Varner Memorial Invitational in Winter Park. Members of the squad will also compete at the ITA Regionals in Gainesville Oct. 21-25.

The fall slate will end at home Oct. 29-31 with the UCF Invitational. Florida Atlantic and Georgia Southern are currently scheduled to compete in the tournament at the UCF Tennis Complex.

"This is a competitive schedule and we are looking forward to the fall," Cashman said. "The fall schedule is designed to help our guys prepare for the spring. We have some new faces and everyone will able to face some good competition."

The Knights return several letterwinners from a year ago, highlighted by senior Blaze Schwartz (Pensacola, Fla.), who won 11 singles matches last spring. Also back is junior Claudio Romano (Valencia, Venezuela). He claimed nine singles contests in 2010.
