ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Kyle Wilshire (Georgetown, Ky.), who will begin his collegiate career with the UCF men's golf team this fall, took medalist honors at the 2010 Kentucky Junior Amateur Championship earlier this week. Wilshire signed a National Letter of Intent with head coach Bryce Wallor's Knights in November.
Playing at the Lindsey Golf Course, Wilshire fired a 1-under 71 in the opening round at the junior amateur championship, and followed that up with a 5-under 67 to capture the title.
His sister, Megan, claimed the girls' title at the Bardstown Country Club.
