ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The Knights will take to the road for the first time in 2010 for their third game when they head north to face the Buffalo Bulls. UCF downed the Bulls last fall in Orlando and aim to sweep the home-and-home series.
The Bulls, like UCF from 2002-04, are members of the MAC and have won MAC East title two out of the last three years. In 2009, the Bulls went 5-7. Under first year head coach Jeff Quinn, Buffalo looks pick up where they left off last season, winning back to back road games to end the year in style.
Offensive Player to Watch
In a very young Buffalo offense Terrell Jackson looks to step up and replace the first and third all time leading receivers in school history. Jackson brought in 25 catches for 250 yards last season with 14 catches and 147 of those yards coming in the final 3 games.
Defensive Player to Watch
The power of the Bulls' defense lies in the linebacker corps. Leading the way is energetic senior Justin Winters. Winters was an All-Mac selection in 2008 and finished third on the team with 79 tackles, an interception and a fumble recovery.
Series Information
Since the series began in 1992, the Knights have dominated, holding a 6-1 record against the Bulls. UCF has averaged 37 points per game against the Bulls in the seven meetings. In the last meeting (2009) the Knights scored 16 unanswered second half points to pull out a 23-17 victory over the Bulls. Brynn Harvey rushed for a pair of touchdowns and Nick Cattoi made all three of his field goal tries.
