ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Junior Connor Arendell (Cape Coral, Fla.) of the UCF men's golf team turned in a strong performance at the Florida State Amateur Championship this past weekend, tying for fifth at the Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando. Arendell concluded the four-round event at 5-over 293.

Sean Dale of Jacksonville took medalist honors at 285 (-3).

Arendell was one of 73 golfers in action at the tournament. He began the event by carding a pair of 72s during the first two rounds.

This past season, Arendell appeared in all 12 tournaments for the Knights. His best performance came at the Conference USA Championship in nearby Sorrento. He tied for second at 2-under 214, helping UCF take the conference crown for the second-straight year. Arendell was in his first campaign in Orlando after transferring from Louisville.
