COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF head women's basketball coach Joi Williams finished representing both her program and country well on Sunday, helping to guide the USA Women's U-18 National Team to an 81-38 victory over Brazil in the gold medal game of the FIBA America U-18 Championship at the U.S. Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colo.

Williams, serving as an assistant coach in her first appearance working with USA Basketball, helped lead the U.S. to an unblemished 5-0 record during the event, including the rout in the gold medal contest. Her team had six players score at least nine points Sunday to win the title.

The UCF head coach, who will be entering her fourth season at the helm of the Knights' program in 2010-11 season, was one of two assistant coaches on the staff alongside Florida State's Sue Sue Semrau. Hartford head coach Jennifer Rizzoti was the squad's head coach.

Williams, the 2009 Conference USA Coach of the Year, will return all five starters at UCF from the 2009-10 season, including leading scorer Chelsie Wiley (Riviera Beach, Fla.). Wiley, who has scored 1,069 points and made 134 three-pointers in her career, will be one of five seniors on an experienced UCF squad. The program will be appearing in the 2010 Preseason Women's National Invitational Tournament for the first time to open the 2010-11 season.
