ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - There will be no long vacations for members of the UCF men's basketball team this summer. There will not be much relaxing at home either. The Knights instead will be on campus, focusing on growing individually and as a unit.

The entire squad plans to stay in Orlando for both summer sessions at UCF, attending classes and working out as a team. Typically, team members have returned home for the Summer A session, and then headed back to campus for Summer B.

Due to NCAA rules, the Knights will not be able to workout with head coach Donnie Jones and the other members of the staff, but the squad will be able to lift weights and play pickup games together.

The pickup games have an extra importance this offseason. Jones, who took over the helm of the program in late March, plans to implement an up-tempo offensive system. He has asked his new pupils to play quickly all the time, and the pickup games will allow the Knights to get acclimated to the new style of play.

Guard Taylor Young (Orlando, Fla.), who is entering his senior campaign, says that the team is looking forward to staying on campus together for the entire summer.

"This is the first time that I have stayed the whole summer. I think that this summer we will have the chance to get better," he said. "We can put a lot of shots up and play a lot of pickup and hopefully really grow as a unit."
