ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF men's basketball head coach Donnie Jones continues to add talent to his program as he announced on Thursday that Josh Crittle has signed a grant-in-aid and will transfer to UCF from Oregon. Crittle, a 6-foot-8 post player, will sit out the 2010-11 campaign due to NCAA rules and will then have two years of eligibility remaining.

A native of Bellwood, Ill., Crittle played in 51 games in two campaigns at Oregon, where he made five career starts. He averaged 2.9 points and 2.5 rebounds during his time with the Ducks.

In 2009-10, Crittle appeared in 20 contests and averaged 1.9 points and 1.3 boards in 7.0 minutes. As freshman, he started four of 31 games he appeared in and averaged 3.6 points and 3.3 rebounds in 15.2 minutes per outing. He also totaled 16 blocks.

Crittle attended Hales Franciscan High School in Chicago and was rated as the 29th-best center in the nation by ESPN.com and the 30th-best post player in the country by Scout.com as a senior. That year, he garnered Illinois Basketball Coaches Association 1A/2A All-State First Team honors.

"Josh is a talented post player who is excited about attending UCF and joining our basketball family," Jones said. "Josh will have the opportunity to work on his individual game this upcoming season, and then will provide us with some much-needed help in the frontcourt in 2011-12."

Crittle adds to an impressive group of newcomers that Jones has brought to UCF. Guard Jarvis Davis, who attended Hargrave Military Academy in Virginia, forward Dwight McCombs from Moraine Valley Community College in Illinois, center Tom Herzog, who is transferring from Michigan State and guard Isaiah Sykes from Denby High School in Detroit will all be eligible this season for the Knights.

The UCF ticket sales office is currently accepting season-ticket deposits for the campaign at (407) UCF-1000 or online at UCFAthletics.com. By placing their deposit now, fans will receive a free 2010-11 NIKE Knightmare t-shirt with their ticket purchase. Season tickets start at just $99.
