Orlando, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - UCF women's soccer goalkeeper Lynzee Lee, who donned the Black and Gold from 2008-09, recently signed on to play with the Buffalo Flash of the United Soccer League. Lee becomes the first Knight to sign a professional contract in school history.
"I am very proud of Lynzee and what she has accomplished," said UCF goalkeeper coach Donna Fishter. "She is very athletic and overall a very talented goalkeeper. We were lucky to have her at UCF. I do believe this is just the beginning of a great professional career for her."
Lee was a very instrumental in taking the Knights to the 2009 NCAA Tournament, posting a 5-0-1 record along with notching two shutouts. She had an amazing 0.54 goals-against average with an .864 save percentage, while she earned the Conference USA Defensive Player of the Week award for shutting out LSU and FIU. In C-USA contests, Lee was a perfect 3-0-0. In her first year at UCF after transferring from Utah, Lee played in three games with one start.
The Flash opened up their 2010 season Wednesday when they hosted the London Gryphons. Buffalo's home matches are held at the Demske Sports Complex at Canisius College. For more information, visit BuffaloFlashSoccer.com.
