ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - Senior Samantha MIller (Palm Beach Gardens, Fla.) of the UCF rowing team was recently honored with a spot on the inaugural Conference USA All-Academic Rowing Team. The all-academic team consists of student-athletes who have earned a 3.2 cumulative grade point average or better and are a key contributor to their team.

Miller rowed in varsity eight boat throughout the 2010 season, helping the Knights defeat Kansas State and Iowa at the Longhorn Invitational. She also helped her squad to a first-place finish against both Columbia and Navy at the George Washington Invitational.

This senior is pursuing a degree in health sciences, while holding an impressive 3.67 GPA.

In the inaugural C-USA Rowing Championship last weekend, Miller and the Knights finished second overall on Melton Hill Lake in Oak Ridge, Tenn., behind Tennessee. The event was held in conjunction with the South/Central Regional Championship.

The Knights won the gold in the varsity four event and placed third in the varsity eight and second varsity races.
