A.J. Rompza Finishes Year Ninth Nationally in Steals

ORLANDO, Fla. (UCFAthletics.com) - The NCAA released the final 2009-10 national statistical leaders earlier this week and UCF sophomore guard A.J. Rompza (Chicago, Ill.) finished in the top-75 in the country in three categories. Most impressively, he concluded the campaign ninth in steals per game at 2.6 an outing.

In 31 contests, Rompza totaled 81 steals, good for fourth on the UCF single-season register. He had at least nine steals in a game on nine occasions.

The point guard also finished the year 48th in the country in assist-turnover ratio (2.22) and 73rd in assists per game (4.6). His 144 assists ranked sixth on the program single-season list.
